ABOUT THE NURSING AND MIDWIFERY COUNCIL (NMC);

THE PROFESSIONAL REGULATORY BODY FOR NURSES AND MIDWIVES.

Why is it important to receive treatments from a medical professional?

Medical professionals are regulated.. so what does this mean?

  • They are accountable for their practice, including all procedures they carry out as a professional.

  • Medically trained for a minimum of 3 years!! (plus all of the practical experience gained within a medical environment, plus further training required to become an aesthetic practitioner)

  • Safe practice. Thoroughly trained in prevention and infection control techniques for your safety during invasive procedures.

  • Must adhere to, and work within 'The code' or risk losing registration (Registration is gained through years of intense university training).

  • Must revalidate (every 3 years) & continue to train and develop professionally to remain a registered practitioner

Do your research!

If your medical professional is genuine and registered you will be able to search for them on the register by visiting the NMC website! You will also be able to see if they have any limitations on their practice.

To search you just need the practitioners name and/or unique PIN.

Caution!!

Remember, beauticians and beauty therapists administering injectables have NOT received medical training, they are not equipped to deal with emergency situations and they ARE NOT regulated or accountable to anyone for the treatments they provide.

Invest in your practitioner, do your research, and ensure you keep yourself safe, always.
